1Who we are

GradeA.ie is a guided-learning and exam-practice service for Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert students, their parents and schools. It is operated by Conjora Limited, a company registered in Ireland, which is the controller of the personal data described here under the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

This notice covers gradea.ie only. Contact us about anything in it at hello@conjora.ie.

2What we collect

  • Account details — your email address, name if you give one, and a hashed password or sign-in link record.
  • Your email address, when you ask us to send you something — results, alerts, a newsletter or a receipt — together with which emails you have asked for.
  • Purchase records — what you bought, when, the amount and its status. Card details are entered on Stripe’s page and never reach us.
  • Files and photos you upload, and anything you type into forms, so that we can provide the feature you used them for.
  • Figures you enter into calculators. Most are worked out in your browser and never sent to us; where a tool needs to send them (for example to email you a result) it says so.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, pages visited and errors — kept in server logs for security and to fix faults.
  • Messages you send us, and our replies.

3Why we use it, and on what basis

  • To provide what you asked for, including taking payment and delivering a purchase — performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • To send emails you signed up to — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw with the unsubscribe link in every email.
  • To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix faults — our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • To measure how the site is used, through analytics cookies — your consent, given or refused in the cookie banner.
  • To keep accounting and tax records — legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).

4AI processing

Some features send what you type or upload to an AI model to produce a result — for example, an explanation, a draft or a report. The model provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) processes it on our behalf to return that result. Under their API terms it is not used to train their models.

Do not include information you do not want processed this way, such as other people’s details or health information that the feature does not need. AI output can be wrong; read it critically.

5Students under 18

GradeA.ie is used by school students. In Ireland, children under 16 need a parent or guardian’s consent for services offered directly to them; where an account is for a younger student, a parent or guardian sets it up or approves it. We collect no more about a student than the service needs, never show advertising, and never sell anyone’s data.

6Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising profiles. We share it only with service providers that process it for us under a written contract:

  • Vercel — website hosting.
  • Supabase — database and file storage, hosted in the EU.
  • Stripe — payment processing. Stripe is also a controller for its own fraud-prevention and legal obligations.
  • Google Workspace — sending and receiving email.
  • Google Analytics — usage statistics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
  • Anthropic and OpenAI — AI processing, as described above.

Some of these providers are based in the United States. Transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

7How long we keep it

  • Account data: while your account is open, and deleted within 30 days of you closing it.
  • Email subscriptions: until you unsubscribe. We keep a record of the unsubscribe so we do not email you again.
  • Purchase records: seven years, as Irish tax law requires.
  • Uploaded files: as long as the feature needs them, and deleted on request.
  • Server logs: up to 30 days.
  • Messages to us: up to two years after the conversation ends.

8Cookies

We use cookies that the site needs to work — including keeping you signed in — and, only if you agree, analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site’s cookies, which brings the banner back.

9Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. Email hello@conjora.ie; we answer within one month.

If you are not satisfied with our answer you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

10Changes to this notice

If we change how we use personal data we will update this page and its date. If a change is significant and we have your email address, we will tell you before it takes effect.
