GradeA guides students through Leaving Cert and Junior Cycle problems step by step — and every question they work out builds a topic-by-topic picture of what they understand. Parents, teachers and principals see that picture, never the chat.
Learn.
See progress.
Know who needs help.
See the whole school.
GradeA shows learning, not surveillance. Nobody but the student sees their conversations with the tutor.
| Who | Sees | Does not see |
|---|---|---|
| The student | Their own conversations and progress | — |
| Parent | Subjects, topics, how each is going, when they studied | The conversations |
| Teacher | Topic bands for students in their classes, common mistakes | Conversations; other teachers’ classes |
| Principal | Topic patterns across the school, interventions | Conversations |
The AI tutor is live for every student today, and so is the teacher/principal dashboard — free to set up, no waiting list.
8 students need support on this topic.
Logging it records where the class stood, so you can see later whether it moved.
Set up your classes and see, topic by topic, how each one splits — who has it, who is developing, who needs support. Named, so you can act on it before Monday.
The topics your students are stuck on, how many are affected and in which classes, drawn from the questions they actually answered. Log what you did about it and compare later.
A teacher sees the classes they are assigned to and no others. No ads, no data selling, and no teacher reads a student’s conversations with the tutor — they see the learning, not the transcript.

Each step below is something the tutor actually does. The last one is what makes GradeA a platform rather than a chatbot: what a student works out is recorded against the topic.
Typed — or, with Pro, a photo of the page. GradeA matches it to the topic on the course.
It finds out what the student already knows before explaining anything.
The student does the step. Stuck? A hint narrows it — it does not hand it over.
When they are right, it says what worked. When they are stuck, it explains clearly.
A next question on the same topic, pitched from their record so far.
A wrong answer is named — a sign error, the wrong formula — then three targeted questions and a re-check.
The answer counts towards the topic. Unaided and harder answers count for more.
It recommends the next best step from the record: continue, review, fix, or stretch.
Topic-by-topic progress needs a topic list behind it. Here is exactly how much of one there is at each level today.
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business — Higher and Ordinary Level. Tutor plus progress tracking.
Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business. Tutor plus progress tracking, with fewer topics than Leaving Cert so far.
Maths and Science (living things, energy and forces, materials). Tutor plus progress tracking.
Useful for first-year maths and science; no topic tracking at this level.
They ask a question or open the topic GradeA recommends. It works through it with them rather than handing over a finished solution.
Every question answered updates that topic. Harder questions and unaided answers count for more, and a topic can go down as well as up.
Their class, topic by topic — who has it, who is developing, who needs support, and the mistakes several students keep making.
The teacher acts, and logs it. GradeA freezes where the class stood at that moment so the change can be measured later.
Which topics are in trouble, across how many classes and year groups — and whether what the school did about them worked.
A textbook question, a worksheet, a graph, or your own handwritten working. GradeA reads it and works through it with you the same way it does everything else: it finds where you got stuck and teaches that step. It doesn't just hand back the answer.
Homework, a diagram, an exam question or your working.
It works out the topic and what the question is asking.
A question back, the missing idea, then your next step.
And the topic counts towards your progress.

No. GradeA guides: it finds out what your child already knows, gives hints, and lets them do the thinking — because what they work out themselves is what counts on their progress. If they are genuinely stuck, or need a definition or formula, it explains clearly rather than leaving them frustrated. It is the opposite of a homework-completion tool.
A general chatbot answers and forgets. GradeA works through the problem with your child on the Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert topic lists, records how each topic is going from the questions they actually answer, and shows you and their teacher that picture.
Same technology, different job. ExplainIt is a personal study companion for the moment something does not make sense. GradeA is a learning platform: guided study plus topic-by-topic progress for parents, teachers and schools.
Grinds in Ireland typically cost €40–€80 an hour. GradeA.ie is €9.99 a month, available any time, within a fair-use monthly allowance that covers everyday study for most students. It is not a replacement for a teacher — it is help between lessons.
Yes. The parent dashboard shows the subjects and topics they have worked on, how each topic is going once there is enough evidence to say, where they are stuck, and when they studied. It does not show their conversations with the tutor — that is deliberate, so they can ask the question they are embarrassed to ask. You hold the account and the subscription.
There are no ads, no external links, no social features, and we do not sell data. Your child only interacts with the tutor. We keep what improves the teaching — which topics were attempted, how they went and the kind of mistake made — and you can ask us to delete the account and everything in it at any time. See our privacy policy for what we hold and why.
Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Business are built on the Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert topic lists, at Higher and Ordinary Level, and progress is tracked topic by topic. Primary Maths and Science are tracked too.
Picked for what you just worked out — not a list of everything we make.
